Fl. forming a double triangle, 90 mm wide, deep orange-yellow, facing up; perianth segments very broadly ovate, shouldered at base, spreading, with margins incurved, smooth and of heavy substance, overlapping; the inner segments narrower; corona cylindrical and smooth, mouth ribbed and flared, frilled, with rim flanged and crenate. Sweetly scented.
Named for John Reed’s father, M.O. (Mo) Reed, and for the greatest U.S. battleship, The USS Missouri.
