Fl. rounded, 100 mm wide; perianth segments very broad or roundish, blunt and sometimes truncate at apex, mucronate, shouldered at base, pure white, spreading, plane, smooth and of heavy substance, overlapping half; the inner segments narrower, more nearly ovate, slightly twisted; corona cup-shaped, smooth, deep golden yellow, with a slight tinge of green at base and with fiery red at rim, frilled, with rim crenate.
Named for an Australian city that has the longest pier in the southern hemisphere and home of family friends.
