A.P. SteegeFl. star-shaped, 70 mm wide, facing up; perianth segments 38 mm long, very narrowly ovate in outline, acute at apex, mucronate, brilliant greenish yellow, reflexed, twisted, smooth and of membranaceous substance, overlapping at base only; the inner segments only slightly narrower; corona 40 mm long, cylindrical, smooth, vivid yellow, mouth widely flared, regularly ribbed, wavy, with rim notched and crenate. Sweetly scented.
Named for a cartoon character, a tiny little yellow bird who always outsmarted Sylvester the cat.
