Fl. rounded, 96 mm wide; perianth segments broadly ovate, slightly inflexed, overlapping; the inner segments spreading; corona almost disc-shaped, broad, deep pinkish red, or in some seasons paler and more nearly pink, sometimes flecked white near rim. Sunproof.
Named because the large dish-like cup is usually a strong strawberry color.
