Perianth segments broad, blunt, milk white, inflexed, slightly twisted, with margins recurved, overlapping one-third; corona cylindrical, angled, sulfur white, mouth flared, with rim flanged and crenate.
According to the American Daffodil Year Book of 1935 published by the American Horticultural Society in Alfred Bates’ article “in Praise of Old Daffodils”, gives this description: “Then comes ‘Peter Barr’ (Barr, 1902), with his deep blue-green foliage and massive, bold blossoms of pure white campanulate perianth and large, solid-looking trumpet of deep ivory; there is one point against him and that is his short stature; a few more inches to his stem and he would be much nearer perfection.”
Named in honor of the notable daffodil hybridizer, born in Scotland and who lived in England, Peter Barr.
