Fl. forming a double triangle, 88 mm wide, facing up; perianth segments oblong, very broad, shouldered at base, spreading, with margins incurved, smooth and of heavy substance, with midrib showing, overlapping; the inner segments narrower and slightly inflexed; corona funnel-shaped, smooth, mid-orange, mouth ribbed and expanded, frilled, with rim flanged and dentate. Sunproof. Sweetly scented. Resembles an improved ‘Johann Strauss’ of paler color.
In the tradition of its pollen parent, a composer’s name was chosen.
