Fl. almost rounded, 85 mm wide; perianth segments very broadly ovate, mucronate, shouldered at base, spreading, with margins incurved, smooth and of heavy substance, with midrib showing, overlapping; the inner segments slightly narrower; corona bowl-shaped, smooth, pinkish red, shading to a deeper tone at rim, and with a small area of green at base, mouth ribbed and a little flared, wavy, with rim dentate and slightly flanged. Sunproof. Sweetly scented. Resembles an improved ‘Quasar’ with wider perianth segments and a more strongly colored corona.
Named because it was one of Steve Vinisky’s (of Oregon, U.S.) favorites when he visited Oakwood.
