Origin of Name

The hybridizer was sorry to miss the 2020 ADS National Convention in Dallas, because it was at the start of the 2020 Pandemic Global Isolation period because of the Covid-19 virus. He named this seedling ‘Splendid Isolation’ after this period in history!  He wished everyone the very best at this difficult time, and to “keep safe”.

Historically speaking, Splendid isolation is the term used at the time for the 19th-century British diplomatic practice of avoiding permanent alliances, particularly under some specific governments between 1885 and 1902.
