In 2011, the American Daffodil Society (ADS) designated a new exhibition section for any daffodil registered between 1940 and 1969, inclusive named "Classics".

The ADS believed that such a section would interest a different segment of exhibitors and might encourage bulb growers to keep these post-war era cultivars available.

The ADS Historic daffodil period ended shortly after World War II started, when marketing and exporting of daffodils temporarily ceased.

When trade resumed, daffodils were different, improvements in form were most noticeable.

Fl. pure white; corona with sage green at base.

A description according to Cotter’s 1972-73 catalog: “Large dazzlingly white 3C of perfect exhibition form, bred from 3C seedling x ‘Bryer’. Perianth is comprised of rounded segments of exquisite quality and flatness, and extends to 4 ¼ inches. Cup is of similar whiteness excepting for the sage green base. These large flowers have an urgent pose on strong 18-inch stems. Flowers open freely and are earlier than others of the type.”
