Fls rounded, 5-8 per stem, 45mm wide; perianth segments 17mm long, very broadly ovate, truncate, prominently mucronate, a little inflexed, concave, with margins wavy, smooth, overlapping half or more; the inner segments narrower, less prominently mucronate; corona 8mm long, bowl-shaped, ribbed, mouth expanded and wavy, with rim entire.
Named for the Zuni celebration of dances and ceremonies conducted at the winter solstice, and is a reenactment by Tribal katsina priests of the creation and migration of the Zuni people. The Zunis are a tribe of Pueblo Native Americans.
