Fl. 115 mm wide, facing up; perianth segments broadly ovate in outline, blunt or rounded at apex, light greenish yellow, flushed greenish white at base, with prominent white mucro, reflexed, somewhat concave, smooth and of heavy substance, overlapping half; the inner segments more narrowly ovate; corona funnel-shaped, angled, opening pale creamy pink, becoming creamy white, mouth ribbed and flared, lightly frilled and deeply lobed, with the lobes overlapping and crenate.
Named after American jazz musician Louie Armstrong (Satchmo). The trumpet on this daffodil is over-sized, making its presentation more dramatic, like the trumpet held by Louie Armstrong when he performed on stage.
