Fl. 103 mm wide; perianth segments very broadly ovate, blunt, brilliant greenish yellow, with very slight white mucro, spreading, concave, regular, overlapping half; the inner segments more narrowly ovate, notched at shoulder, with margins wavy; corona very short funnel-shaped, lightly ribbed, strong orange, mouth straight, with shallow overlapping lobes, wavy. Slightly scented.

Received the Royal Horticultural Society(RHS) Award of Garden Merit(AGM) in 1993 and the award was rescinded by the RHS in 2012.

Origin of Name

Named for the historic “red” cattle of Devonshire.
