Fl. forming a double triangle, 110 mm wide; perianth segments ovate, acute, mucronate, shouldered at base, spreading, with margins incurved, smooth and of heavy substance, with midrib showing, overlapping; the inner segments narrower; corona bowl-shaped, smooth, whitish cream, with a broad band of copper-orange at rim, mouth expanded and lobed, wavy, with rim flanged and crenate.
Believed to be named after a family friend, Railene Mabin, who planted thousands of daffodil bulbs at Taniwha Station in Hawke’s Bay New Zealand.
