Fl. 95 mm wide; perianth segments narrowly ovate, acute, sulfur white, inflexed, twisted, smooth, overlapping at base only; corona narrowly funnel-shaped, loosely ribbed, rich yellow, paler at base, mouth expanded and more strongly ribbed, rim notched and dentate.

This daffodil may have Italian origin. There is a question if this daffodil is the same as the species N. gayi?

According to a daffodil historian in the Netherlands, ‘Princeps’ is a selection of a Dutch wild narcissus.
