Perianth segments broadly ovate, truncate, prominently mucronate, somewhat reflexed, plane or with margins incurved, smooth and of heavy substance, overlapping half; the inner segments narrower, spreading, scarcely mucronate, margins incurling or a little wavy; corona cup-shaped, angled, mouth expanded and lightly frilled, with rim notched.
Named for steamship which plied the Ohio River between Cincinnati and the amusement park Coney Island, upriver, between 1906 and 1947. It burned in Pittsburgh during renovations in 1947.
