According to The American Horticultural Society’s 1937 issue of the The American Daffodil Year Book, Edwin C. Powell’s article “Breeding and Raising the Small Daffodils” states: “Of the six bulbs, the four that had flowered by 1936 are as nearly alike as if grown from a clone The stems which are 10 inches in height bear three or four milk-white fragrant flowers having a tiny buff-colored cup. They have proved to be perfectly hardy, having gone through the winter of 1934-1935, the most severe winter on record, where the ground froze to a depth of nearly 3 feet and remained frozen for six weeks.”
