Fl. star-shaped, 25mm wide, facing slightly downwards; perianth segments 12mm long, oblong, blunt, mucronate, strongly reflexed, plane or with margins a little incurved, with midrib showing, of heavy substance, overlapping at base; the inner segments narrower; corona 10mm long, cylindrical, smooth, mouth a little expanded, lightly ribbed and wavy, deeply six-lobed, with rim crenate.
Named because the flowers look like they are headed into a strong wind.
