Description according to David Bell’s 1977-78 catalog of New Zealand: “This is very likely the first of this cross to be offered. All yellow, two or more florets to stem, having narrow trumpets and reflexed perianth, sometimes compared to little rocket or firecrackers, the name suggested by the impression of flying. Fragrant.
The name appears to be suggested by the impression of the daffodil flying.
