Fl. 65mm wide; perianth segments 27mm long, broadly ovate, truncate, mucronate, white, somewhat reflexed, plane or a little concave, with margins incurling, with midrib showing, of heavy substance, overlapping half or more; the inner segments narrower, more nearly plane, shouldered at base, less prominently mucronate; corona 3mm long, disc-shaped, ribbed, yellow, with green at base and a narrow band of red at rim, mouth even, with rim minutely crenate.
Part of Gripshover’s “Poet Series.” Named in honor of the poet who wrote the words now inscribed on the Statue of Liberty . . . “give me your tired, your poor, . . .”
