Fl. more or less rounded, 87 mm wide, facing up; perianth segments very broadly ovate, mucronate, shouldered at base, mid-yellow, spreading, plane, with margins slightly incurved, smooth and of heavy substance, with midrib showing; the inner segments only a little narrower; corona cup-shaped, smooth, orange, paling to a lighter tone at rim and shading to a darker tone at base, mouth ribbed and flared, frilled, with rim flanged and dentate. Sunproof. Slightly scented.

Dave Karnstedt was very fussy about the daffodils that he liked. They needed to point high and be aesthetically beautiful. In other words, approaching perfection! This late 2Y-O is one such flower that Dave seemed to really admire during one of his visits to Oakwood, hence the name.
