Fl. rounded, 90 mm wide, facing up; perianth segments ovate, blunt, spreading, plane, smooth and of heavy substance, overlapping; corona disc-shaped, opening ribbed, becoming smooth, with mouth even. Flower aging to self-white.

The hybridizer named this daffodil for the city of Indianapolis, home of the Indianapolis Speedway where the Indy 500 car race is held. The race-cars circle in the Circle City.
