Fl. 118 mm wide; perianth segments broadly ovate, blunt, noticeably mucronate, yellow, spreading, plane to slightly concave, with margins a little wavy, smooth and of heavy substance, overlapping half; the inner segments shouldered at base, less noticeably mucronate, slightly inflexed; perianth segments 45mm long, broadly ovate; corona 48mm long; corona funnel-shaped, smooth, darker in tone than perianth segments, mouth narrowly flared, lightly ribbed, wavy, with rim a little split and overlapping in places, crenate.

Origin of Name

Part of Derrick Turbitt’s ‘Causeway’ series. The Giants Causeway is an array of an estimated 40,000 basalt columns located on the north coast of Northern Ireland. It is frequently referred to the ‘Eighth Wonder of the World’.
