Fl. rounded, 87 mm wide, facing up; perianth segments broad, mucronate, mid-yellow, with a slight flush of orange-red in some seasons, spreading, plane, margins a little incurved, smooth heavy substance, overlapping; inner segments narrower; corona cup-shaped, ribbed, strong red, frilled, with rim rolled and dentate. Sweetly scented. Resembles ‘Creagh Dubh’ but with the perianth segments more nearly spreading and plane and of purer color.

Named for a local Michigan town in the U.S. where Dr. Reed has purchased his Ford trucks.
