Fls 2 per stem, 75 mm wide; perianth segments broadly ovate, rich golden yellow, with white mucro, spreading, concave or with margins incurling, ribbed, overlapping 1/3 to 1/2; inner segments more narrowly ovate, with margins more deeply rolled; corona smooth, orange, mouth straight, very broadly and shallowly lobed, wavy, with rim entire. Resembles a smoother and stronger ‘Kinglet’.
Part of Grant Mitsch’s Bird Series. Named after the bird, Bunting, in this case probably the Lazuli Bunting which is native in his home state of Oregon.
