According to tazetta expert, Bill Welch of Santa Cruz California, this is a distinctive old form of Paper White, first came from Hancock & Co in Australia, but other sources in Australia sent it to me from old gardens at that time (mid 1970’s) and it has appeared as well mixed in bulbs from the Isles of Scilly.

This is the ‘Paper White’ ancestor of the various ‘Pearl’ and ‘Primo; types, blooming along with them in February, later than other Paper Whites.

Perianth is widespread and may match up with the papyraceus var incurvatus in EA Bowles’ book.
