Fl. forming a double triangle, 130 mm wide; perianth segments ovate, blunt, vivid yellow, plane, smooth and of heavy substance; corona cylindrical, smooth, darker in tone than the perianth segments, mouth straight and even, with rim crenate.

Origin of Name

Kowhainui translates to “big yellow” in the Maori language.
