The names Narcissus concolor (Haworth) Link and Narcissus lusitanicus (Dorda Alcaraz & Fernández Casas) Barra are widely held to be two different names for one taxon. However, before any decision can be taken on whether they are synonyms, it will be necessary to examine any material that was seen or studied by the original authors and establish whether they were indeed dealing with the same taxon. Until this is done, and the result published, both names can be regarded as available for use, although anyone employing either of them ought to quote the author so as to avoid misunderstanding.
Named for Lusitania (Portugal )
