Fl. star-shaped; perianth segments ovate, blunt, opening deep yellow, becoming sulfur yellow, with slight white mucro, spreading, overlapping a quarter; corona long cup-shaped, strongly ribbed, yellow, stained orange, with bright scarlet-orange at rim, mouth straight and more or less tightly frilled.

From Peter Barr’s Ye Narcissus or Daffodyl Flowre and hys Roots (1884) which says that the ‘Barrii’ type/classification included crosses of “Poeticus x Pseudo Narcissus, or perhaps Incomparabilis x Poeticus.”
