Karel J. van der VeekFl. 110mm diameter; perianth segments 45mm long, very broadly ovate, smooth; 30mm long cup-shaped, smooth orange-rose corona, touched orange-brown at rim, mouth expanded, deeply lobed; strongly scented.
Named by Cees Kuiper in honor of Richard Lionheart, also known as Richard coeur de Lion, was King of England from 1189 till his death in 1199. Richard was a commander King during the third crusade, 1189 till 1192.
