PenningsFls 2(3) per stem, forming a double triangle; perianth segments ovate, blunt, prominently mucronate, opening pale yellow green, becoming paler than greenish white, spreading, plane, with margins incurling, creased and of membranaceous substance, overlapping a quarter; the inner segments more narrowly ovate, shouldered at base, scarcely mucronate; corona split almost to base, the six segments half the length and almost the same width as the perianth segments and closely overlying them, bi-lobed, with lobes overlapping, wavy, opening vivid yellow, becoming light greenish yellow. Sweetly scented.
In 2014 after trial at Garden Wisley it was determined that an AGM be awarded to ‘Prom Dance’ subject to the cultivar being registration, a requirement that was met in 2016.
