Original RHS color code is 2 (b). According to the American Daffodil Year Book, 1935 published by the American Horticultural Society in Mrs. Francis King’s “Preface” entry: “I singled out a beautiful primrose trumpet of great size and fine texture.”

Origin of Name

Named in honor of the founder of the Garden Club of America and author of Chronicles of the Garden-1925 and eight more garden books, Louisa Yeomans King (1863-1948), more commonly known as Mrs. Francis King. This daffodil was named after she admired it while attending a flower show in Heestede, Haarlem, in Holland.
