According to Jan deGraaff’s Record book of the 1951 descriptions of flowers then being grown at Oregon Bulb Farm: “4 ½ inch diameter; Pure white, lapping segments, and waved. Trumpet flares broadly to 3 1/2″ & develops to an ivory shade. Very similar to ‘Lady Ruffles’ except where ‘Lady Ruffles’ develops a pure white trumpet almost immediately on opening, ‘Miss Ruffles’ slowly develops to an ivory trumpet. The broad mouth of the trumpet is heavily folded and ruffled. Foliage is medium wide, quite green, & erect.”
