Origin of Name

Leaf Peeper is a term used in the northeast U.S. for tourists who come in autumn to view the fall foliage; the yellow and reds in the bloom remind the registrant, David Burdick, of those colors. More importantly, it commemorates Brian and Betty Duncan’s first visit to New England to see the display, when Brian was amused to discover that he was a ‘leaf peeper.’
