Michael Percival WilliamsFl. 70 mm wide, at an acute angle to the stem; perianth segments ovate, mucronate, creamy white, flushed pale yellow at base, reflexed, with margins incurved, overlapping a quarter; corona cylindrical, ribbed, vivid yellow, with a brighter tone at rim, mouth very slightly expanded and a little frilled, with rim notched and crenate.
Named after a shy small stocky brown wading bird, the smallest in the snipe family, that spends its non-breeding period in Great Britain.
