Fl. forming a double triangle, 114 mm wide; perianth segments very broadly ovate, rounded at apex, golden yellow, spreading, plane, smooth and of heavy substance, overlapping; the inner segments narrower; corona cylindrical, smooth, rich orange, mouth flared and wavy, with rim rolled and entire. Resembles ‘Hero’ but with the corona of a stronger orange and the mouth more widely flared.

Origin of Name

Named after the Boyne Bridge which is on the M1 Northern Motorway between Dublin and Belfast. The Bridge crosses the Boyne River to the west of Drogheda and received an Award of Excellence.
